Enjoy Asia’s beloved game of mahjong with a twist with AniMAH(Jong), Singapore’s first animal mahjong game designed for bonding, learning and laughter shared by children and adults alike! Modelled after the classic game of mahjong, a beloved staple of family gatherings, AniMAH(Jong) by Growing Up Academy follows the fundamental rules of mahjong and utilises skills of pattern recognition and pattern-forming so children aged four and above can enjoy this favourite family pastime too. With simplified game rules and three progressive game levels - Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced - AniMAH(Jong) makes it easy for all ages to understand. Played by a group of four, players draw 13 tiles and take turns clockwise to make a move, assembling sets of matching tiles (3 of a kind (pong)/ 4 of a kind (gang)) or sequences from the same animal suit (chi) to win. A full game is played for four rounds and players can collect gems or points, based on the uniqueness of their winning hands. At the end, the player with the most points wins! Similar to its origins, AniMAH(Jong) builds focus, hand-eye coordination, memory skills and teaches social interaction cues like taking turns and communication. Families can also enjoy hours of fun exploring the world of enchanting animals, botany, different types of weather and seasons together.
