Akadama Triple Line is a high quality soil used for bonsai trees.
It’s a hardened clay from Japan that has the perfect balance of density and porosity for ideal water retention.
This soil is often combined with other materials like fine lava rock to provide excellent drainage and aeration, promoting healthy root growth.
The grain size of Akadama Triple Line is small.
It’s heat-treated at around 250-300°C, making it structurally stable for a longer period.
Akadama Triple Line is a great choice for succulents. Succulents need a medium that drains incredibly well to flourish. Akadama, a type of volcanic clay, is highly prized by succulent and bonsai growers all over the world, mostly because of its porosity.
It can drain off any excess water while holding onto nutrients and water within its small pores and cavities.
Moreover, Akadama darkens when damp, letting the gardener know when to water the plant. Many succulent growers even use pure Akadama to grow their plants.
These soil provide ventilation and drainage to succulent soil, keeping your plants extremely content.
In addition to Akadama, some growers also use pumice and volcanic rock in their soil mix. Pumice, also known as volcanic glass, has the capacity to absorb moisture and then release it once it has dried. Volcanic rocks are rich in iron, magnesium, nitrogen, and other minerals, making them ideal for thriving succulents.
