Avoid false positives

1. Mount the sensor away from direct sunlight, such as an overhang, a covered area, or in a non-metallic box.

2. Do not place the sensor where the wind will blow, and try to keep the sensor and receiver in an unobstructed path for best performance.

3. Mounting the sensor high up and tilting the sensor down to face the roadway might help (if you haven't tried it yet). This promises to reduce distractions from distant objects and sunlight.

4. Finally, if none of these suggestions help, try tapping part of the sensor area with black tape, as this may reduce the sensitivity of the sensor.
