Distract, apply, & reward!
With a distraction in tow (we love training treats or maybe their favorite toy), clean up any excess dirt or debris evident around the affected area, and use two fingers or a low-absorbent cloth to gently apply a generous amount of Snout Soother to your dog’s nose. Follow up every application with a treat, playtime, a nice belly rub, or whatever your dog’s favorite reward is!
To start, we recommend applying the balm at least two to three times daily. Using the balm before bed is ideal due to the peak of healing and regeneration that occurs in dogs while they sleep.
Reduce frequency as your dog’s nose improves using less often to maintain a beautiful, healthy snout.
Give your dog a bone or favorite treat, go for a walk, play tug, belly rubs, or dab a bit of Snout Soother (or peanut butter!) on top of thier paw so they lick their paw instead of their nose. This will allow time for the carrier oils in Snout Soother to work their magic and deliver those healing nutrients deep into the skin.

•Extreme Weather Conditions
•Dry Skin around the face, lips and ears

Q : WHAT IF MY DOG LICKS IT OFF?
A : Natural Dog Snout Soother is 100% natural, safe and edible. Primary ingredients include nut oils and butters, which can be appealing to dogs, so they may attempt to lick it off. This is perfectly normal! Snout Soother will still work even if most of it is licked off. Though, for best results, we advise using distractions such as treats or mealtime to allow more time for the product to work it's magic!
Q : HOW OFTEN SHOULD I APPLY SNOUT SOOTHER?:
A : The more often you are able to apply Snout Soother to your dog’s nose, the better. We recommend applying at least 2-3 times per day – especially before bedtime when bodies are healing and regenerating. Once your dog’s nose is healthy, you can reduce the frequency of applications to maintain a healthy and hydrated nose.
Q : CAN SNOUT SOOTHER BE USED ON OTHER ANIMALS?A : Absolutely! Snout Soother can be used on all animals – even humans!
Q : WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SNOUT SOOTHER AND COCONUT OIL?A : Virgin organic coconut oil is amazing, which is why we include it in many of our formulas! However, coconut oil is a very light moisturizer and just does not have the same healing power as Snout Soother. We hear from many customers, who don’t get results from only using coconut oil, that they are finally able to heal their dog’s nose with Snout Soother.
Q : WHAT DO I DO IF MY DOG RESIST APPLYING THE NOSE BALM?
A : Many dogs do not want their noses messed with because those tissues are highly sensitive - touching IS painful even if they don't show it (Dogs are stoic by nature). Dogs also have many nerve endings in their noses. Imagine chapped lips - ouch!
There are several ways of accomplishing this (depending on your dog). What we hear the most from our customers is to make sure your dog associates the application of Snout Soother as a "reward" - not as a negative or confining situation.
Holding down or confining may not be the best option, either, as most dogs will resist or fear constraint. If you coax your dog with a FIRM, but gentle, approach (and sometimes treats), you should get a better response.
You might try holding a food reward in your hand and let your dog get a sniff of it. As he is licking or nibbling the treat, try to carefully swipe a bit of Snout Soother on your dog's nose. If your dog begins to associate yummy treats with getting something put on his nose, you should have a better response.
You could also try tug toys or belly rubs - anything to distract your dog. Tug works well for many dogs and they will let you do just about anything to their noses with a tug toy firmly locked in their jaws. At that point, keeping the tug toy is way more important than worrying about anyone touching their nose.
Don't give up! They will finally end up with a healthy nose and be able to live pain free.
Q : DOES SNOUT SOOTHER PROVIDE ANY SUNSCREEN?
A : Snout Soother® Questions Several ingredients in Snout Soother contain natural sunscreen, including Kukui Nut Oil, Shea Butter and Natural Vitamin E. This is ideal for dogs with light colored snouts. Several customers with dogs diagnosed with discoid lupus have reported positive results as well. Snout Soother has an estimated SPF 9.
Q : THE CRUST IS FALLING OFF MY DOG'S NOSE, IS THAT NORMAL?
A : Absolutely! Hyperkeratosis in dogs can cause a layer of painful, dried skin on your dogs nose. Snout Soother and Snout Shine both work to penetrate beneath those layers and heal your dogs dry nose. As a part of the healing process, bits and pieces will begin to fall off your dogs nose. Eventually you should see new and healthy nose tissue coming though…but don’t stop applying, as this period is critical to achieving a perfectly healthy nose.
Q : MY DOG'S NOSE IS PINK UNDERNEATH, WILL THE PIGMENT RETURN?
A : Every dog is different. Sometimes pigment returns in full, sometimes it doesn’t. Many customers have reported that Snout Soother brought back the pigment in their dogs nose. The good news is the dry, painful nose will be a thing of the past.
Q : MY SNOUT SOOTHER IS GRAINY, IS THAT NORMAL?
A : What you are seeing is actually Shea Butter that has melted and then hardened again. This can occur when the product is exposed to excessive heat or temperature fluctuations. It is a common occurrence with Shea Butter, but it is just too good of an ingredient to leave out! The only way to prevent this process from happening is to use a chemical emulsifier which, for us, is not an option. Snout Soother is 100% natural and we plan to keep it that way!
