Hu Guilin, also known as Guyue, was born in Guilin in 1957. Due to his remarkable painting talent, he was discovered by the renowned landscape painter Ye Lumei at the age of 8 and taken as a disciple. Later, he studied under Mr. Li Zhenou, specializing in landscape painting and also excelling in meticulous bird paintings. His landscape paintings are full of spiritual charm, with skilled brushstrokes and profound artistic conception. His works have participated in numerous national art exhibitions and have won numerous awards. He has held solo exhibitions in the United States, Japan, Italy, France, and other countries, receiving widespread acclaim. His works have been collected by museums in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and other places. He is currently a member of the China Artists Association and a national first-level artist. In 1997, he was awarded the title of "One of the Hundred Outstanding Figures in Chinese Painting" by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the China Artists Association. He is a pioneer of the Lijiang Mountains and Rivers Xiaoyao painting school and is known as the 'Painting Immortal from Beyond the World'.
