What is the difference between rechargeable and non-rechargeable PH probes?

The rechargeable pH composite electrode has a liquid addition hole on the electrode housing, and when the external reference solution of the electrode is lost, the liquid addition hole can be opened to refill the KCI solution. The non-refillable pH composite electrode is equipped with gelatinous KCI, which is not easy to lose and has no filling holes.

The rechargeable pH composite electrode is characterized by a high permeation rate of the reference solution, stable reproducibility of the junction potential, and high measurement accuracy. Moreover, when the reference electrode is reduced or contaminated, the KCI solution can be supplemented or replaced, but the disadvantage is that it is more troublesome to use. When the refillable pH composite electrode is used, the dosing hole should be opened to increase the liquid pressure and accelerate the electrode response, and when the dielectric liquid level is 2cm lower than the dosing hole, a new dielectric solution should be replenished in time. Non-refillable pH combination electrodes are characterized by their simple maintenance and ease of use, so they are also widely used. However, when used as a laboratory pH electrode, the KCI concentration at the junction will decrease under long-term and continuous use conditions, which will affect the accuracy of the test. Therefore, when the non-refillable pH composite electrode is not in use, it should be soaked in the electrode immersion solution, so that the electrode performance will be very good in the next test, and most laboratory pH electrodes are not long-term and continuous tests, so the impact of this structure on the accuracy is relatively small
