đşKaPaYong (Protector of Buddhaâs Bone)đş
The history of KaPaYong came from Hindu history (the origin of Buddha history).
KaPaYong, known as the protector of Buddhaâs bones when Buddha was buried, was made to prevent the enemies from stealing Buddhaâs bones. Four KaPaYong, representing North, South, East and West, watched out for danger while protecting the Buddhaâs bones. The history of KaPaYong was then passed down to Southern Thailand.
Two main provinces were identified and eight masters were selected as representatives, under the Thai Royalty, to serve the people of these two provinces. The two provinces were Phattalung & Nakhon Si Thammarat Province (in Southern Thailand).
The eight masters were bestowed with titles and names given by the Thai Royalty. Four masters in Phattalung were bestowed the same titles as the other four in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province:
One night in BE2558 (2015), Phrakhru Kachard was doing his handcrafting work at his work desk. Suddenly, a manâs voice whispered into Phrakhruâs ear asking him to âplease make âKaPaYongâ for protectionâ.
Few days later, Phrakhru Kachard flew to Bangkok, met up with Mr Payap Kumpun (President of SMK), and mentioned this incident. Weeks later, as an act of support, Mr Payap presented the design of KaPaYong to Wat PraDuhom (BE2559/ 2016).
This was the first batch of KaPaYong released after many years from the time KaPaYong was named as the protector of Buddhaâs bones.
