Ketahuilah, wahai orang yang bersemangat dalam menimba ilmu agama, yang terlihat dari diria kesungguhan cinta dan tinggia dahaga kepada pengetahuan agama, bahawa jika engkau di dalam mencari ilmu memiliki tujuan untuk meombong, merasa lebih dari orang lain, mencari pujian di hadapan manusia dan mengumpulkan harta dunia dengan memperalat ilmu agama untuk kepentingan nafsu belaka, maka sesungguha engkau telah melangkah dalam menghancurkan agamamu, merosak jati dirimu dan menjual akhiratmu demi duniamu.
