A walker requires user to lift the walker & place it ahead to take a step. This motion is difficult for some user who has not strength or stability to lift the walker. Having a walker with wheels does not require this lifting action.
1.) If stability is concern, a walker without wheels is good choice.
2.) A two-wheels walker allows you to place weight on the walker as you stop to balance yourself to move forwards.
3.) If you don’t need to lean on the walker for balance, you’ll walk faster with a four wheel walker.
️For safety reason do not install/use seat with wheels on.
Fitting your walker: Adjust it so that it fits your arms comfortably to reduce stress on your shoulders and back.
Don’t lean over the walker: Stay upright as you move & step into the walker, rather than walking behind it. Be careful not to push the walker too far in front of you or set the handles too high.
The above basic advice is general information to assist you only. You should contact your Health Care Professional about what item is better suited & how you should use it, especially for user who has mobility problem or illness.
