An accidental discovery during R&D, leading to our Plan B, an acne solution for acne due to sensitive skin. Soothing Cleansing Gel became our key in helping acne fighters who breakout due to skin sensitivity.

HOW TO USE

For daily cleansing, massage over wet face and rinse thoroughly with water. Avoid direct contact with eyes.

For makeup removal, massage over wet face and wipe off gel and grime with damp cotton pad. Repeat until cotton pad stays clean. Thereafter, recommended to cleanse again with Calming Cleanser.

HOW SOOTHING CLEANSING GEL WAS DEVELOPED

We call this the story of Irene.

The first challenge was to find a surfactant that has good makeup removing power but yet doesn’t trigger increased sebum / oil production on our founder, Jasmine’s skin.

After many rounds of trial, Jasmine finally found a suitable surfactant. She then added tumeric extract, french pine bark extract and olive-derived moisturising agent, for anti-inflammatory and hydration benefits. This is version 7 (v7) of the soothing cleansing gel.

Jasmine sent out v7 to fellow acne-battlers and Irene was one of them. For the past year, Jasmine has been customising a cleanser for Irene in her lab as she couldn’t use any other cleansers in the market. Her skin improved with the customised cleanser but it did not completely solve her oily acne skin issue.

Within 3 days of using v7, Irene feedback that her skin cleared up and could stay matte much longer. However, v7’s cost is high, so we did a v8 with a slight reduction in extracts concentration.

Every other tester, including Jasmine, was cool with v8 except Irene. Irene’s face started oiling up again and pimples returned.

Jasmine decided to launch v7 of Soothing Cleansing Gel in the hopes of helping others who has sensitive/sensitised skin like Irene to solve their acne problem.
