Item was damaged and I asked for refund and it was approved promptly. It would be better if one can just message dealer directly for replacement. Might get the replacement one faster.

Upon the first usage, please wash the hard diatomite mat in running water to get rid of excess powder. Once washed, please DO NOT use the sand paper and leave it out to dry. Once dried, you can use it immediately.
This product only needs to be rinsed once before the first use and air-dried naturally. After that, it won't shed powder during normal use! If you're obsessive and feel the need to wash it thoroughly, it will keep shedding and may even become thinner the more you wash it.
The sand paper is used when the hard diatomite mat is dirty and does not absorb water.
