Calcium carbonate powder can be used as a source of calcium for feeding isopods. Isopods, like many other arthropods, require calcium for proper growth and development of their exoskeleton. Calcium carbonate powder is a common source of calcium that can be used to supplement the diet of isopods.
It is important to use food-grade calcium carbonate powder that is specifically intended for use in food products. Other types of calcium carbonate powder e.g. industrial calcium carbonate may contain impurities that could be harmful to your isopods.
You can sprinkle a small amount of calcium carbonate powder onto a feeding dish or mix it into powdered food. Be careful not to overfeed, as too much calcium carbonate can cause imbalances in nutrient levels.
