Cleaning powder to maintain our espresso machines and grinders in tip top condition!
1. Cafiza (Espresso Machine) - Used for backflushing of grouphead and portafilter
2. Grindz - Remove coffee oils for your coffee grinders (note: DO NOT use with fully automatic machines such as the De'Longhi Dinamica Plus)
3. Rinza (Espresso Machine) - Used for breaking down milk protein buildup if you use milk in your machine.
How to Backflush your espresso machine:
1. Insert blind filter in portafilter and add up to 1/2 teaspoon (3 g) of Cafiza Powder.
2. Insert portafilter into group head. Activate brew cycle for 10 seconds. Stop 10 seconds. Repeat 5 times.
3. Remove portafilter and activate brew cycle and rinse portafilter in stream of water from group head.
4. Reinsert portafilter without cleaning powder. Activate brew cycle for 10 seconds. Stop 10 seconds. Repeat 5 times.
5. Replace blind filter with standard basket. Make a cup of espresso to remove any traces of cleaner.
6. Discard espresso - do not drink.
- Eliminates coffee residue and oils from espresso machine groupheads, valves and lines.
- Can also be used to make a soaking solution to clean portafilters, baskets, screens, and other parts.
- Formulated for optimal balance of solubility and foaming.
Recommended frequency of use: Once a Week
How to use Grindz to maintain your grinders:
1. Empty all coffee beans from the grinder/hopper
2. Add Grindz Grinder Cleaning Tablets – use 1 capful (35-40 g) for home-based espresso grinders
3. Adjust grinder to medium setting and start grinding the tablets
4. To remove any residues of the tablets, repeat above process twice with coffee beans (i.e. 15g each time).
- DO NOT use with integrated grinders in superautomatic machines.
- Formulated from all natural, plant-based ingredients. Does not contain phosphates.
- All ingredients are food safe.
- Recommended frequency of use: Every 2 - 3 months
Step 1: Mix solution of 30 ml Rinza per 500 ml water.
Step 2: Insert suction tube into solution.
Step 3: Run entire solution through frother.
Step 4: Repeat above with clean cold water to thoroughly rinse all components.
For Use on Steam Wands and Milk Pitchers
Step 1: Soak pitcher or steam wand for 15-30 minutes in 30 ml Rinza per 500 ml warm water.
Step 2: Rinse all components with clean water.
Step 3: Adjust grinder to medium setting and operate.
Step 4: To remove any residues of the tablets, repeat steps 1-3 using coffee beans instead of Grindz.
