About the author

Li Lian, born in April 1961, holds a PhD in history. Currently, he is the director of the Institute of Buddhism at Northwest University, a professor of world religions and cultures, and a doctoral supervisor. He is also a director of the Chinese Religious Society, a distinguished researcher at the Buddhist Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and the Ethnic Religious Theory Research Base of the China United Front Theory Research Association (Gansu). Specially invited researcher, chief editor of "China Buddhism Network", chief editor of "Chinese Buddhist Yearbook" (academic volume), chief editor of "Tangshan Series" (24 volumes published). He has published 7 independent works, including "Study on Guanyin Belief in Ancient India" and "A Preliminary Study on Prajna Thoughts in the Diamond Sutra". He has published more than 80 papers in journals such as "World Religious Studies", "Philosophical Research", and "History of Chinese Philosophy". Currently hosting one National Social Science Fund project and one Shaanxi Provincial Philosophy and Social Science Fund project.
