Chinese artist Li Kuchan's son, Li Yan, has hand-painted traditional Chinese animal paintings, and there is a collection titled "Mother and Child Joy" with certificates of authenticity.

Li Yan was born on November 10,1943 in Gaotang County, Shandong province. The word Zhuang north, studio Chan Yi Ju. In 1958, he was admitted to the high school affiliated to the China Central Academy of Fine Arts. In 1960, he was admitted to the China Central Academy of Fine Arts Chinese Painting Department. He studied systematically for eight years (three years in the high school affiliated to the China Central Academy of Fine Arts and five years in the China Central Academy of Fine Arts) . After 1972, he worked in Beijing Rongbaozhai editorial department for six years. He is now a professor at the School of Fine Arts, Tsinghua University, Vice President of the Qi Baishi Art Research Society, Deputy Director of the Li Kuchan Museum, and deputy director of the Li Kuchan Museum of Art.
