Chang Zhang Daqian (Chang Dai-chien) , male, Neijiang, Sichuan native of Panyu County, Guangdong Province, was born on May 10,1899, in An Luong, a suburb of Neijiang City, Sichuan province, to a family of well-educated Chinese painters and calligraphers. In the 1950s, Zhang Daqian toured the world and gained a huge international reputation. He was praised as “The brush of the east” by the Western art circles, and was also called “The painter who copied the most famous paintings in the world”.
