Li Kuchan (January 11,1899 -- June 11,1983) , born in Gaotang County, Shandong Province, was originally named Li Yingjie, Li Ying. Good at painting flowers and birds, broad brushwork freehand brushwork, pen and ink, soundly dripping, painting style to simple, vigorous, bold and unconstrained known. In 1918, he met painter Xu Beihong and was taught Western painting techniques. In 1922, he was admitted to the Department of Western Painting, Bac Binh's national art vocational school, to study Western painting. In 1923, he studied under Qi Baishi, and under the tutelage of Qi Baishi, his art progressed greatly. From 5 to 7 July 1941, an exhibition of more than 50 works was held in Zhongshan Park, Bac Binh.
