Li Keran (March 26,1907 -- December 5,1989) , a native of Xuzhou, Jiangsu province. An outstanding modern Chinese painter and poet, a disciple of the painter Qi Baishi. Li Keran started painting as a child and learned landscape painting at the age of 13. He is a 43-year-old China Central Academy of Fine Arts professor and a 49-year-old landscape painter who has traveled thousands of miles to sketch. At the age of 72, he is vice-chairman of the China Artists Association and President of the Chinese Painting Academy. In old age, the pen tends to be old and spicy. Good at painting landscapes, figures, especially good at painting cattle.
