Liu Wenxi was born in Shengzhou, Zhejiang province in 1933. He is now a consultant to the China Fine Arts Association, a consultant to the Shaanxi Federation of Literary and Art Circles, vice-chairman of the Shaanxi Fine Arts Association, Honorary President of the Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts, and president of the Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts, an expert who has made outstanding contributions throughout the country. He has been a member of the National Federation of Literature and art, vice-chairman of the China Art Association, Member of the Chinese Painting Committee, member of the Chinese painting jury of all the national art exhibitions, and the first batch of 100 Masters in China. His works have been exhibited in dozens of countries and regions, and he and his wife, Chen Guangjian, have held many duet exhibitions in various parts of China. His major works include “The shepherd”, “The east”, “The The Sky Above the Liberated Zone” and the huge series “The loess people”.
